Biography

He was born December 31, 1949 in Boonville, Mo., to Aloys and Emma Twenter Vollmer. He was married to Dorothy Aversman on Aug. 2, 1986, in Clear Creek, Mo. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus at Clear Creek, president of the St. John's Cemetery Board, past member of the Pilot Grove Lions Club and Pilot Grove Range Riders, and served on the Pilot Grove City Council for several years. He was a life-long farmer in the Pilot Grove community. He worked for Scott Implement in Sweet Springs for many years. He retired from MoDOT after 12 years of service in March. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother-Bob, and one sister-Elsie. Funeral services for Mr. Vollmer were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove with Fr. Phil Kane officiating. Burial was in the St. John's Cemetery in Clear Creek.
