Biography

Matthias Vollmer married Anna Catharina Ganter sometime before 1699, as their firstborn arrived on February 25 of that year. Unfortunately, that child lived less than three years (until January 15, 1702). Their third child lived about two years, and the seventh child died in his same year of birth.

In all, that marriage produced nine children. They are: Matthias III, born 1699; Anna Maria, born 1701; Johannes, born 1702; Joseph, born 1703; Susanna, born 1704; Joannes, born 1705; Johann Georg, born 1706; Anton, born 1710; and Maria Elisabetha, born 1712.

In that Matthias died on April 1, 1729, and that his wife died four days later, it leaves to question whether there was an epidemic or if they died as a result of injuries sustained in a common incident.
