Biography

Rudolph Marc Voullaire was born at 8 a.m. on 22 February 1860 in Zeist, son of 39 years old soap maker Marc Voullaire and Lijdia Merian. [1]

On board of the ship "Prins van Oranje" R.M. Voullaire departed from Amsterdam with destination Batavia on 17 June 1885, [2] arriving there on 29 Juli 1885. [3]

On 14 November 1885 a company named Nederlandsch-Indische Bierbrouwerij "De Kroon" was founded in The Hague by father and brothers of Rudolph's later spouse Jeanne Etienette Dermout, with the goal of starting one or more beer breweries in the Dutch East Indies. Beer brewers Rudolf Marc Voullaire and Otto Anne Eliza Gerhard Dermout, both living in Batavia, were assigned managing directors of the business in Batavia for a full term of five years. [4]

Rudolph Marc Voullaire and Jeanne Etienette Dermout married by proxy on 31 March 1887 in Den Haag, with Jacob Dermout as authorized representative of Rudolph who was living in Batavia. [5]

Rudolf passed away in 1939 in Mildura. [6]
