Biography

Joseph Wafer is a part of US Black heritage.

Joseph was born on 23 Sep 1912 in Arkansas. He is the son of York Wafer and Beulah (West) Wafer.^[1]

1920 Census: Joseph Wafer is living with his father, York Wafer (47), in the Badgett Township of Pulaski County, Arkansas. The record notes that Joseph is 7 and that he was born in Arkansas.^[2]

1930 Census: Joseph's father, York Wafer, has moved the family to the Eastman Township of Pulaski County, Arkansas. The record reflects that Joseph was 17 and born in Arkansas.^[3]

In 1940 Joseph was unemployed and living in Chicago, Illinois. He gave his father, York Wafer, as his next-of-kin on his draft registration.^[4]

On October 10, 1944 Joseph Wafer, a resident of Chicago, was hired by the Chicago & North West Rlwy as a 3rd Cook.^[5]

Joseph passed away in Arkansas on 3 Jul 1989. ^[6]
