Ngaire was born in 1920. She is the daughter of Herbert Waghorn and Elsie Thompson.

She married Edwin Charrott in 1942 in Uxbridge, England.

Ngaire passed away in 2003, aged 83, and was buried at New Te Puke Cemetery.
