The Fire-lands located in the Western Reserve (Northwest Ohio Territory) were established to make compensation for Connecticut cities burned by the British during the Revolution. This tract embraces the present counties of Huron and Erie, Ohio. The Fire-lands pioneers endured great privations and hardships but lived to see the wilderness become a fruitful land.
Samuel Walker was born 24 May 1781 in Ashford Township, Windham, Connecticut to Samuel Jr and Ellise/Ellice Case[1].
On 8 Aug 1802 in Weathersfield, Connecticut Samuel married Cynthia Brown[2] (1787-aft 1860 Iowa) daughter of John Brown (1760-1790) and Savory Colton (1760-1790) and
sister of Pliny Brown who married Samuel Walker's sister Asenath Walker.

Cynthia outlived her husband but exact date of death is unknown. She lived with her son Gamaliel in Iowa after the death of her husband. Shown living in Perry, Buchanan, Iowa in 1850 and 1860 census.
