Alexander Walker is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois.

Alexander was born in 1837. He was the son of Daniel Walker and Nancy McLaren. ^[1]

He graduated from Union College in Schenectady and practiced law in Niles, Michigan. When the Civil War broke out, he enlisted and was commissioned a Captain in Company A, Michigan 7th Calvary. He was promoted to Full Major in 1864. He mustered out in November 1864. ^{[2] [3]}

After the war, he married Venetia Hurd in 1865.

They farmed in Ogle County, Illinois. ^[4][5]
