Mary "Polly" Walker was born in 1783 in Rutherford, North Carolina, the child of John Walker and Ursilla Covington. She married twice, firstly to Andrew Bankston[1] and secondly to Walter Sorrels on September 28, 1844[2], in Rutherford, North Carolina. She died on April 16, 1865, and was buried in Green Hill, North Carolina[3].
Research Notes
Gravestone has Sorrells with two L's but majority of sources have only one L.[3]
Many MyHeritage family trees claim that her first husband, Andrew Bankston, was the father of her son Martin Walker, although they weren't married until twelve years after her son's birth.
