Margaret Wallace was born in 1767, in Staunton, Augusta county, Colonial Virginia, a daughter of James Wallace and Elizabeth Campbell. On September 26, 1785, in Augusta County, Virginia, Margaret married David McKenney. [1]
Margaret's husband died in 1822, in his late sixties in Orange county, Indiana. At age 84, Margaret is found in the household of John Scanland Scanland-1 and his wife, Hannah Scott. Further research is required to determine whether there is a bloodline between Margaret and John, but the connection may be that John knew her husband through his connection to David, who was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War, as was Hannah's father. They were both from Virginia and migrated to Indiana, perhaps, together. [2]
Margaret died in 1852, and is buried in Trimble Cemetery, in Orange county Indiana, with her husband. [3]
