Notes

This was what is on a piece of paper my mom sent me. Think my grandma Fannie probably wrote it.

These are some memories our daddy W.I. Wallace told to Fannie and Mildred in 1969.

He was sitting n his recliner in front of the old library table n the front (living) room at 1223 N. Griffin, Oklmulgee, OK. He had just got home from the Okmulgee Hosp, where he had been real sick. We had asked him how he came to be living in Oklahoma from Tennessee. He said... when he was 19 we moved to Arkansas from Hamilton Co, Tennessee, to a place called Crawford County, that was in the fall of 1901. Daddy and mama (our grandmother and grandpa Wallace) decided to move to Oklahoma, along with the Slover family. I came with Uncle Jim Slover and Aunt Em in a covered wagon. We had some of the stock with us. West of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Aunt Em's Cow had a calf and we had to wait so we camped and picked cotton for about a month. Uncle Jim's folks went on a train to Fort Gibson where they hired a wagon. They wrote Uncle Jim to meet them at Ft Gibson. They had stayed at Grandpa Slovers and got their cotton picked out. Before going on we sold our old grey horse and had to leave most of our stock at grandpas. We camped at Webber Falls to wait for the ferry. Made it to Grave Creek - 8 1/2 miles south east of Morris Oklahoma to the old Patsy Wilson place. It took us two days to get there but it took over a week when we went back for the stock. I met your mama at church. The Fullers lived a mile north from us. I went with her sister Alta first. We were married in the Fuller's yard, at dusky dark, 4th of July 1906. We lived with her folks that fall. The Fullers moved to Inlequah (?) and we took over their farm.

Notes

Grandma Bertie Frances (my grandma Fannie's mom) divorced Grandpa William (Bill). Married Mr. Stubblefield.

Mr. Stubblefield, Bertie, Fannie when she was about 12 years old, and her youngest brother William... all rode in a box car from Oklahoma to California

Book mentions them in a few paragraphs...
