Biography

Sophia was born in 1851 at Petersham.^[1] Her mother died around 2 years after she was born.

In 1871 she married William Scriven.^[2] They had 8 children:

1. Mary was born in 1876, married at Scone in 1906, and died in 1914.
2. William was born in 1878, married at Scone in 1909, and died in 1942.
3. Alfred was born in 1879, married at Scone in 1910, and died in 1928.
4. Samuel was born in 1882. He married at Scone in 1918 and after his first wife died in 1920 he remarried there in 1922. He died in 1956.
5. Elsie was born in 1883, married at Aberdeen in 1908 and died in 1971.
6. James was born in 1886. In 1915 he married at Inverell and after his first wife died there in 1919 he remarried at Scone in 1923. He died in 1954.
7. Arthur was born in 1888 and died in 1890.
8. Walter was born in 1893 and died in 1963.

She died in 1939 at Muswellbrook,^[3][4] survived by 5 of her children.

Sophia is buried at Aberdeen.^[5][6]
