Biography of Katherine Veronica Ward O'Toole
Catherine Veronica Ward, also known as Kay, was born on Dec. 14, 1916 to Frederick Ward and Katherine Lavelle in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. [1][2]
She married Joseph O'Toole of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 8, 1937 in St. Rosalie Church in Greenfield. [3]

Their first child, Kay Veronica O'Toole (aka Little Kay) was born in 1938. In the 1940 census Kay and Joe and Little Kay were living in Greenfield, Pittsburgh, PA with Joe's uncle, John D. Barron. [4]
In 1941 their son Joseph Martin O'Toole, also known as Jay, was born. [5]
On Dec 12, 1942, their second child, a boy was stillborn. He is buried in Calvary Allegheny Cemetery. [6]
On May 02, 1946, their daughter, Maureen C. O'Toole was born. Their final child, Joseph Martin O'Toole, Jr. known as Jay, (Birthdate not known) In 1948, according to the city directory, Joe and Kay and family were living in Pittsburgh at 3921 Lydia Street.
She and Joe celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 7, 1987. [7]
She died in June of 1994. [8]

Every year at Christmas time my mother would take my sister and me to Pittsburgh to visit Santa in the big department stores. Aunt Kay worked at Joseph Horne's Department store. We would stop in to visit her at work.
