Biography

Obituary Mr. Richard Ward, an old pioneer of the district, died yesterday afternoon at the age of 76. He had lived in the district for about 49 years, having arrived with his wife from Norfolk in the ship Southern Eagle. His good nature and generosity made him popular with his neighbors, and he was generally esteemed. His death is greatly regretted. He followed farming as an occupation, and leaves one son and four daughters. The funeral takes place at the Don tomorrow afternoon. [1]
