Needham Washington was a son of Lawrence Washington and Elizabeth Dade.
"(4.) Lawrence, son of John & Mary Washington, b. 31 March, 1727-8 m. 31 July, 1750 Elizabeth Dade. He was of "Digby" on Chotank Creek, King George County, Va. A deed 13 June, 1804, from Lawrence Washington Sr., to Needham L. Washington, conveying all his stocks, etc,. furniture and gold spectacles, cane and spyglasses "bequeathed me by General Washington". [1]
He was a resident of King George County, Virginia when his will was dated 14 October 1833 naming his wife Sarah Ashton Washington and his two children, Jane Wray Washington and Needham H. Washington. His will also clarified he was the son of Lawrence Washington, Sr.[2][3]
Needham bequeathed stock and property not otherwise devised to his wife and children to his nieces and nephews, the children of his sisters, Mary W. Stith, Ann Stith, and Frances T. Stith, or to the heirs of these nieces and nephews if they be deceased, specifically stating "as is the case with Robert Parsons" who was the son of John Parsons and Mary Stith, the latter a daughter of his sister Mary and John Stith. Needham's nephew Samuel Washington was to inherit his home Waterloo in the event of his own son dying.[2]
His will was proved 2 April 1835 in King George County, Virginia.[2]
