Louisa Margaret Watson was born on 9 September 1856^[1]. She was the daughter of Dr. William Scott Watson and Louisa Sarah Dennis.

Notice of her birth was printed on page 8 of the North Devon Journal dated 18 September 1856:

9th inst., at Langlee, near Galashiels, the wife of William Scott Watson, Esq., of a daughter.^[2]

In the 1861 Scotland Census, Louisa M Watson (aged 4) was recorded living with her father William S Watson (41 and a Landed Proprietor) and her mother Louisa S Watson (39) at Bucklands (Mansion), Wilton, Roxburghshire. Also in the household were her four younger siblings Bridget S Watson (8), Annie L E Watson (aged 7 and a Scholar), William S Watson (6) and Susan H Watson (3), along with five servants and a Governess.

Louisa Watson (aged 14) was recorded as a Pupil at Clifton House, Clifton, Gloucestershire in the 1871 England Census.

Sadly her sister Susan Harriet passed away on 19 March 1873 at age 15. The following year her other sister Annie Louisa Elizabeth passed away in on 27 June 1874 at the age of 20 after a horse riding accident.

In March 1885 her oldest sister Bridget passed away at the age of 32,unmarried, and her father William died soon after, in April 1885.

Louisa Margaret Watson was residing at 3 Worcester Crescent, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England when she passed away on 24 August 1888, unmarried, and was buried at Saint Mary's Kirk, Hawick, Scottish Borders, Scotland^{[3] [4]}.

Her will was proved on 20 November 1888 at Bristol by her oldest brother William Scott Watson of the Barracks in the city of Lichfield, a Captain in the 1st Battalion of Her Majesty's Essex Regiment, one of the Executors^[5]. Personal Estate: £450 15s. 7d.
