Biography

Thomas Watson was born in London, England on 1 March 1837 and baptised at St George in the East Tower Hamlets, London on 4 June 1837. His parents were Thomas and Margaret Watson. ^{[1] [2]}

In 1841, Thomas lived with his family at Stepney, Middlesex.

Thomas Watson (Farm Labourer) arrived on the ship Walter Scott on 15 July 1857 in Port Phillip Bay, Australia having departed from London. (Note - A Farm Labourer from inner London is ODD. Is this the correct Thomas Watson - OR did he say this because they needed Farm Labourers? ) ^[3]

After migrating to Melbourne, Australia, Thomas Josiah Watson married Amelia Jack in 1869. ^[4].

Thomas worked as a Mining Agent near Newbury, Victoria and Thomas and Amelia had 9 children there.

Thomas Josiah Watson died on 23 December 1901 and was buried in Kew, Boroondara City, Victoria, Australia. ^[5]. ^[6]
