Jonathon was a cooper and soldier, serving under Captain Samuel Wheelwright in 1724 on an expedition against the indigenous groups of what became the District of Maine.[2]

Jonathon married Ellenor Flanders on 20 May 1726 in Amesbury, Essex County.[3][4] His children definitely included Nicodemus, Zebediah, Daniel, Peletiah, Parmenas, and John. It is thought that there may have been some others including Obediah, Nathaniel, and Benjamin.[2]

Jonathan Watson is a Military Veteran.
Served in the King George's War
in Captain Ladd's company, under Colonel Moore's regiment, at the Siege of Louisbourg in 1745.

He later served in Captain Daniel Ladd's company, Colonel Moore's regiment in an expedition against Louisbourg during King George's War, in 1745. He spent the remainder of his life as a citizen of South Hampton as his estate was contributed to its creation, especially involved in the religious affairs of that time.[2]

Research Notes

John Watson born in 1693 and John Watson born in 1705, son of John and Ruth alongside Abigaill, Ebenezer, Hannah, Ruth, Samuel, Shadrach, and Thomas.[5]

It is recorded in Stearns (1908) that Ruth's maiden name was Griffin.[2] An application for membership in the Florida Society of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) in 1948 by descent from Daniel relayed similar information.[6]

Not uncommonly associated in online trees as father of William Watson and George Watson.[7] This association is likely incorrect.
