Weaver, died in East Union, Wayne Co, on 8 March 1918 of heart failure; age 83y 7m 6d, birth on 2 Aug 1834 in Ohio; male, white, widower, retired farmer; father: Joseph Weaver born in Penna.; mother: name and birth unknown; informant: Frank Harper of Wooster, Ohio; Burial: East Union Cemetery on 11 Mar 1918.

OBITUARY: WAYNE COUNTY MAN DIES SUDDENLY – Mr. J. W. Weaver, aged 83 years, died very suddenly Friday a 4 p.m. at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Harper, residing three miles east of Wooster. He had not been ailing and was talking to his daughter but a few minutes before he expired. Mr. Weaver was a native of Wayne county and spent his entire life here with the exception of a few years he lived in Kansas. Mrs. Sarah Forrer, of Orrville, is a sister of the deceased and the last surviving member of a family of twelve children. Mr. Weaver spent the past eight years in Orrville, at the home of his son, J. S. Weaver, and went to the residence of his daughter to live last fall. He leaves one son, J. S. Weaver, of Orrville, and three daughters, Mrs. Lydia Griffin, Mrs. Frank harper and Miss Vienna Weaver, of Wooster, to mourn his loss. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the home of Mrs. Harper, east of Wooster. Burial in cemetery at East Union. [Orrville Courier Crescent, 12 March 1918, p. 7, col. 4]
