Biography

Robert Dickins Webb was born on 14 November 1824, the son of Samuel Smith Webb and Ann Moore Dickins. He moved to Alabama with his parents in 1827.[1]

On 27 April 1853, he married Julia E Fulton in Sumter County, Alabama.[2]

In 1860 Robert was living in Sumter County with his wife and daughter. He was working as a doctor, with real estate valued at $10,000 and personal estate valued at $13,000. He was living next door to his brother John Henry Webb (also a doctor) and their parents.[3] He was enslaving five people ranging in age from six years to 45 years old.[4]

He died on 23 February 1894 in Yazoo County, Mississippi, at the home of his daughter Elizabeth Dial (Webb) Williams.[5]
