Johannes Stephan Weiss, known as Stephan, was baptized 23 Mar 1747 in (today) Wolferstadt, Donau-Ries, Bavaria, Germany. He was the son of Daniel Weiss and Maria Anna Eitl.[1]
He married Maria Barbara Frank 4 Apr 1769, the daughter of Michael Frank & Catharina Jung.[2]
Johannes Stephen Weiss died 4 Feb 1823 in Wolferstadt, age (84?) years.[3]

The region of Bavaria where the Weiss family resided was considered part of the Holy Roman Empire until 1805. [4]
The family is traced in the Roman Catholic church records from the Parish of Wolferstadt, Diocese of Eichstätt.
