Biography
From obituary: Marion F. Wells, 80, of 47640 Cline St., Oakridge, died November 21st at a Springfield hospital. Marion was born June 6, 1899 at Delta, Colorado to Herb and Silvia Huffington Wells. He grew up and received his education in Colorado. On July 3, 1924, Marion and Rosey L. Hamilton were united in Marriage in Delta, Colorado. The lived in Colorado where Marion worked as a cowboy on several ranches until moving to Oregon in 1945. They settled in Oakridge in 1947 and Marion worked for the Pope and Talbot Lumber Comany as a carrier driver until his retirement in 1964. In recent years Marion worked for several logging companies as a firewatch in the summer. Marion and Rosey celbrated their 55th wedding anniversay this past July 3rd. Marion loved to be outdoors especially hunting deer in the area. His family and his ability to spoil his grandchildren were the most important part of his live. Marion is survived by his loving wife, Rosey Wells, Oakridge, his sons and their wives: Carl and Sonja Wells, Deadwood, Oregon; Jack and Jan Wells, Beaverton; Orville and Elizabeth "Liz" Wells, Rangely, Colorado; his brother, Jim Wells, Roseburg; his sister Ruby Cook, Grans Pass; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, funeral service Saturday, November 24 at 2 pm athe Chapel of the Oakridge uneral Home. Minister of Oakridge First istion Church officiating. Concluding Services, Forestvale Memorial Park.
