Jeremiah was the seventh, born 26 Feb 1737 at Southold ("which then included Aquebogue"), Long Island, New York. He died at Riverhead, 5 Mar 1714. Jeremiah married 22 Dec 1757, Hannah Cleaves daughter of Jedediah, who was born in 1739 and died at Riverhead in Mar 1825. Twelve children are listed, all born at Riverhead :

  2. Jeremiah, born 26 Mar 1761.
  3. Nathaniel, born 8 Jul 1763.
  4. Abigail, born 12 Nov 1765, d. 4 Feb 1824, unmarried.
  5. Abel, born 12 Mar 1767.
  6. Abiel, born in 1769, married a daughter of Joshua Wells,
  7. Cleaves, born 16 Jan 1771, married a daughter of Joshua Wells,
  8. Hannah, born 19 Mar 1773, d. 16 Oct 1776.
  9. Israel, born 12 Apr 1775.
  10. Elizabeth, born 22 Jun 1778, d. 6 Mar 1810
  11. Phineas, born 4 Mar 1781, d 16 Mar 1782.
  12. Seth Hallock, born 25 Nov 1783. [1]

Jeremiah Wells was born 26 Feb 1737 at Aquebogue, Suffolk County, New York and died 5 Mar 1814 (aged 77) in Riverhead, Suffolk County. He was buried in the Aquebogue Cemetery in Aquebogue.
