On the 1871 Census she was living with her parents and siblings at 64 Ann Street, Llanelly.[3]
She married Edward Henry Rees on 28 September 1875. He was 22, a widower and an Inn keeper at the Swansea Castle Inn, Llanelly. The witnesses were Llewellyn Arthur and Margaret Arthur.

Martha died in January 1908. She was buried on 31 January 1908 in the parish of St Paul, Llanelli. Her address was given as the Swansea Castle Hotel, Llanelly. [6]
