�80 President Jimmy Carter made his sixth fishing trip to Spruce Creek in Huntingdon County over the weekend as guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. Wayne Harpster. His wife, Rosalynn, and daughter Amy accompanied him to church services at the Upper Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church on Sunday.
A McKeesport elderly woman died on Friday in Washington County Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in a two-car accident on Thursday on Route 30, two miles east of McConnellsburg. This was the seventh fatal accident this year in the county.
County Treasurer David Wright announced on Monday that all 4,350 doe licenses allocated to the county had been issued to applicants on Monday on a first-come, first-served mail-only basis.
Apples measuring 13 inches in circumference are being harvested this year by Gene Stenger from a tree planted at his home in McConnellsburg. The tree was grafted from an old pound apple tree growing on the George Morton farm.
On September 21 a covered-dish luncheon was given by the family in honor of Percy Fetter�s 80th birthday.

Kory Sue Chamberlain and Gregory J. Wengert were united in marriage on September 26. Kory is the daughter of Henrietta Chamberlain of Chambersburg and the late Charles Chamberlain. The groom is the son of Joan and Nelson Wengert of Chambersburg.
