Lidwina Werth was born 23 April 1903, Schoenchen, Ellis, Kansas, she died 12 August 1996, Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Joseph Werth (1876- 1905) and Agatha Wasinger (1876-1957)
Lidwina entered the Convent of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Concordia, Kansas on 2 June 1920. She received her habit 13 April 1921. She was known as Sister Esther Marie. Lidwina obtained a B. A. degree from Marymount College, Salina. She taught in elementary schools for 51 years, and was a librarian in Salina. She was at the St. Mary's Convent in Concordia until her death in 1996.
