Biography

Barend Wessel was murdered in Auschwitz

Barend was born in 1889 in Amsterdam.
He was the son of Mozes Wessel and Johanna van Duren.

He was married to Josephina Heimans in 1914 in Nijmegen, Gelderland.[1]

Barend and his wife made a vain attempt to escape to safer places and were arrested and imprisoned in France.
Both were deported to Auschwitz by transport 47 from the French transit camp Drancy on 11.02.1943 and were murdered a few days after arrival in Auschwitz concentration camp, Poland.
