Biography

Stephen Wesson was born in Reading, Massachusetts Bay Colony, in 1693. His family name is commonly spelled as either Wesson or Weston.

About 1726, he removed to an area of Concord which was later named Lincoln. His family name was typically spelled 'Wesson' in this region, as shown in his family records. He and his brother Timothy were charter members of Lincoln church in 1747. Stephen was elected the first treasurer of this church in 1746.[1]

He remained in Lincoln and lived to an advanced age of 96.[2] His gravesite monument states he died at the age of 100.[3]

Stephen Weston married Hannah Flagg in Woburn, Middlesex, Mass. on 2 Feb 1715/6.[7][8][9] Hannah died 19 Nov 1776 in Lincoln.[10]

  2. Mary, b. 22 Sep 1717 in Reading, Middlesex, Mass.,[12] married Nathaniel Ball.
  3. Abigail, b. 27 Apr 1719, married John Jones.[1]
  4. Stephen, b. 16 Nov 1720 in Reading,[13] married Lydia Billings.
  5. Zacahariah, b. 21 Aug 1722 in Reading.[14]
  6. Ruth, b. 20 Jun 1724 in Reading; bapt. 28 Jun 1724 in Wakefield; m. 15 Jan 1747/8 in Concord to James Allen.[15][16][17]
  7. Sarah, b. 11 Nov 1727,[18] married Peter Heywood.
  8. Joseph, b. 7 Mar 1732,[19] married Eunice Farnsworth.
  9. Benjamin, b. 30 Jun 1734;[20] d. 20 Aug 1735.[21]
  10. Esther, b. 22 Jun 1735[1]
  11. Hepsibah, b. 3 Apr 1743[22]
