Doctor H was the twin of Valentine Cook Wheat. He was the son of Samuel Wheat and Anna Rippitoe. He passed away in 1919.
He and his twin served the Union in CO B, 13th Reg’t of Kentucky Infantry. He served ten months and twenty days before receiving a disability discharge. After the war was over, he married Nancy Paul and they had three children.
The family moved to Texas after birth of son James in 1867, appearing on the 1870 Collin County, Texas census.
