Biography

Emerson S. Wheland was born circa December 26, 1862, in East Lewistown, Mahoning County, Ohio, to Mary Magdalena Rowe/Rau and Daniel Wieland. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

On October 28, 1884, in Mahoning County, Emerson married Mary Haberly/Haberlie. They had at least 4 children. ^{[4] [5] [6]}

Emerson supported his family as an operator, police operator and city official, patrolman at a steel mill, and layer-out at a steel mill. ^{[5] [7] [8]}

Emerson died from heart thrombosis on March 6, 1938, in Youngstown, Mahoning County. He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. ^[3]
