Biography

Dora was born in 1878. Her parents were John Monroe Whisler and Maria Gunter. In 1880, the family was living in Locust Grove, Fremont, Iowa.^[1] The household included:

By 1930, the couple's children and niece were out of the home, but John's 67 year old brother, Ira Livingston, had moved in.^[7] By 1940, John and Dora were empty-nesters, living in Farragut, Fisher Township, Fremont, Iowa.^[8]

John and Dora were mentioned in the death record of their daughter, Hazel Iona Allen, 23 Dec 1927, in Shenandoah, Page, Iowa.^[9]

Dora passed away in 1961 at the Melton Nursing Home in Hamburg, Freemont, Iowa. Burial was in the Farragut Cemetery, Farragut, Fremont County, Iowa^[10]
