Biography

James was born in 1756. He was the son of. James Whiteaker Jr. (1756-1818) was the son of James Whitaker (1726-1788) and Mary Saunders (1729-1763). He Married Jemmina Moors (1761-1850) and had at least one child by that marriage. This surname is pronounced (wahyt-aker) - literally "White Acre" - and not Wit-a-ker". It has been mispronounced by American decedents for over a hundred years.
