Judith (White) Robinson-Valéry is Notable.

Judith Robinson-Valéry was a significant figure in the study of French literature, particularly the work of Paul Valéry. She was the first female professor to head an Australian university department (University of NSW, School of Western European Languages), and was also a research director at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris (1987-1998).[1]

Judith Ogilvie White was born in Canberra, ACT, in 1933.[2] She was the daughter of Parliamentary and National Libarian Sir Harold White and Lady Elizabeth Wilson.

She married radio astronomer Brian John Robinson at the British Embassy in Paris on the 28th of June, 1956. They had one son together: Anthony Philip Robinson (Tony). Judith moved to Paris in 1974, and she and Brian divorced in 1975.[1][2][3]

In 1976 she remarried to Claude Valéry, the elder son of Paul Valéry.[2]

Robinson-Valéry returned to Sydney in 2001,[1] and passed away on the 29th of June, 2010.[4]
