Biography

Mary White was born in New Jersey to James White and Mary Kagan on 7 Sep 1816.

She married Isaac Shoemaker Brokaw about 1844. There is no marriage record located, but Mary's father, in his ledgers, kept records of money and property transferred to his children and sons-in-law. IN his invent tory , done by his son, John and David Martin, executors, they made note of "outfits furnished daughters at time of their marriage per memoranda in back part of ledger: ...Mary White (1844) - 100.00." There is also a note about a loan to Isaac Brocaw (1850) in a section that lists "Charges on book against his sons, daughters & sons-in-law in ledger." ^[1]
