He married twice - first to Agnes. They had children Gennet, John, and Elizabeth.[1]
Second marriage was to Isabel Bridgman on 8 August 1546 at Halifax "John Qwitley et Isabell. Bridge".[2]
He passed away in 1561 and was buried at Halifax on 3 December 1561 "Joh'es Whitley de Ovenden".[3]
He made his will dated 29 November 1561 and it proved on 23 January 1561/2. [4]
