Biography
Robert Whiteside was a son of Elizabeth (nee Stockton) and William Whiteside. Robert was born near Mechum's River in what is now Albemarle County, Virginia. Elizabeth (nee Stockton) Whiteside was a daughter of Davis Stockton of Albemarle County, Virginia.
Robert Whiteside married Elizabeth Coffey, a daughter of Elizabeth and Rev. James Coffey. Both Robert and his wife died in Wayne County, Kentucky, in about 1811-12, leaving six children: James, Jonathan, Mary, William, Joel and Lewis.
