Porter was born in 1818. He is the son of Ephraim Whitney and Sarah Noyes. Porter married Elizabeth J. Nash, intentions March 20, 1852 at Jonesboro, Maine and May 7, 1852 at Columbia, Maine. He passed away in 1891 and he is buried with his wife in Village Cemetery, Jonesboro, Maine. [1]
