William lived in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, married Catherine Ardene (dern). He is not the father of Thomas Whitten (abt.1599-1664) who immigrated to America.

Research Notes

There is a mess to clean-up with the Whitten-191, Whiton-266 and Whitten-191 family connections. There are DNA matches to Chris Whitten involved and it's all convoluted but fits with trying to connect Chris Whittens' Maine Whittens to their gateway Ancestor. They all point back to this gentleman as the start point.

There's DNA evidence as well, but unfortunately the mix-up in the family(ies) has been propagated and the DNA matches all have GEDCOMS/Trees which include the mess. Gaulden-7 15:48, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
