Helen's parents were William Thomas Williams and Mary Pearl Hannah. James worked at Republic Steel and Helen worked at Lovemans Dept Store. They were married in Gadsden.
According to 1940 census taken on April 8, James earned $560 in 1939 and was working as a shipping clerk in Steel Mill. He was living at home with his parents, divorce sister, and 3 of his nieces.
