Biography

Enoch Wickersham was born August 13, 1778, in Pennsylvania, and was the son of James and Sarah Wickersham. He was reared on a farm, and received but a limited education. In 1806 he emigrated to Clinton County, Ohio, and settled on a farm of about 200 acres in the woods. He, like the most of our pioneers, endured a great many hardships and privations. He married Miss Margaret Stout, by whom he had nine children, of whom six are still living (1882). He was a member of the Friends' Society, and died November 8, 1862. His wife died in 1879, having reached the age of ninety years. ^[1]

On 06 Feb 1808, he was reported as married to Margaret Stout at the Center MM. Greensboro, North Carolina. Known children are:

Enoch died 8 Nov 1862 (aged 84), Clinton County, Ohio, and is buried in Chester Friends Church Cemetery, Gurneyville, Clinton County, Ohio.
