Williams Carter Wickham was born in 1820. He was the son of William Wickham and Anne Carter. He passed away in 1888, and was buried at Hickory Hill Cemetery, Ashland, Hanover County, Virginia.[1]

Lucy Penn Taylor married 1848 Williams Carter Wickham (1820-1888), son of William Fanning and Anne (Carter) Wickham of Richmond, Virginia. General Wickham was a distinguished Confederate soldier, and a member of the Virginia Assembly for many years; was Legal Counsel for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad, residing at "Hickory Hill," a farm of 3400 acres in Hanover County, still in possession of his descendants.
