Research

This profile is presently linked to Wiliam Wilkinson (Wilkinson-4728 ) as her father. The narrative in William's profile refers to William being in Barbadoes in 1708 and subsequently returning to England to marry (Mary__ ) and that he and Mary had only one child, Hannah, born 1710, in England; and yet, this Dinah was born in 1708, in Rhode Island. The relationship of Dinah to William as her father seems very unlikely, unless William had an earlier wife in Rhode Island that he left in 1708 when he went to Barbadoes and then Dinah's birth took place in his absence. But the timing of all these events makes the idea of a first wife seem unlikely (i.e trip to England, marriage to Mary and birth of child Hannah in 1710). Based on all of these events, if Dinah's father was a William Wilkinson, I would propose it is not Wilkinson-4728 and that Dinah is presently linked to the wrong father. A comment was posted 23 Aug 2020 to Wilkinson-4728 regarding the questions surrounding this present father-daughter relationship.

Additional info: See Willkerson-5823. This is another profile for a Dinah Wilkerson, and she is connected to parents, William Wilkerson and Dinah Knight (Wilkerson-3916 and Knight-442). Could this profile and Wilkerson-5823 be the same person?
