Private Peter Williams served with Richmond County Militia, Georgia Militia during the American Revolution.

Peter Williams is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A210883.

Peter Williams aged 78 and a resident of Pickens county; private in the SC Militia enrolled on Jan 17 1834 under act of Congress of June 7 1832. Payment to date from March 4 1831, annual allowance 50$. Sums received to date of publication of the list was 150 dollars. ---Revoluntionary Pension Roll in vol xiv, Sen, Doc 514, 23 Cong, 1st session 1833-1834. He resided in Pickens County til June 1 1840 aged 86 (Census of Pensioners, 1841 page 149.

Peter Williams was born October 1756 and died in Pickens county Alabama on February 12 1845. His burial place is unknown at this time.

Service

He was a private in the South Carolina Militia. He volunteered near Augusta Georgia near his home. He served under Captain Catledge in Col Benjamin Few's Regiment. Pension W 6507 - Enrolled on January 17 1834 as a resident there. His widow applied on Jan 6 1848 in Carrollton, Pickens county where she lived with Nelson Smith.

Residence

He resided in Georgia with the (with the exception of 6 months where he lived in Pendelton SC in about 1817). when he moved to Georgia he moved Chicca Creek about 35 miles from Augusta GA.

1. Sarah was born 4/12/1790. 2. Mark was born 9/10/1791 3. Hezekiah was born 2/10/1793 4. Elijah was born 4/4/1796. 6. George was born 3/3/1798 7. Benjamin was born 12/22/1799 8. Mary was born 10/31 1801 9. Nancy was born 9/25/1804 10 Selah or "Sealey" was born 2/8/1807 and always lived with her parents 11 Rebecca was born 2/21/1809 12 Betsey was born 3/9/1811

Two grandchildren were given in claim for pension but their parents names were not given. 1, Lydia or Lidia williams 3/3/1808 and 2, Sarah Williams 6/16/1822.
