Margaret Augusta Williams was born August 30, 1920, in Eastover, NC. She married WWII soldier Paul Kenneth Kimbel in 1944. After his military service was complete, they had six children.
The Kimbel family originally supported themselves "managing 6,000 chickens and selling their eggs door-to-door throughout Fayetteville." Margaret reported in her cookbook that this all changed when Kenneth started carrying her cinnamon rolls with him. The sales success of these led to the addition of a bake shop onto their Fayetteville home, and "Margaret's Bake Shop" was successful until her retirement.
Margaret passed away in Fayetteville in 2005, but her recipes live on in many homes across the country.
