Biography

Baptised 24th October 1652 at Sedgley wrongly described as Thomas Wilmot! I was fooled by this entry for some while but looking at the context of the whole register I concluded that this must have been a clercial error! I have nevertheless listed this as an uncertain date. Thomas married Alice Hickman 6th April 1675 also at Sedgley. His occupation like that of his father and brothers is recorded in the Sedgley register as that of a nailor. He and his family lived at Upper Gornal. Thomas and Alice had two daughters only one of whom survived to adulthood Thomas died in 1684 aged 31. His wife Alice lived on as a widow until April 1709 when her burial is recorded in the Sedgley registers
