DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Wilson-44823 and Wilson-5207 do not represent the same person because: I believe they may be different people who came to Rowan County from different places. My dates for his birth and death come from research done by Elbert Ezra Wilson in "The Wilsons of Western North Carolina". I do not have the complete book, but I do have the page showing his marriage to Marey Kinsey which has been verified. Dates of the children's birth suggest he may have married previously. If so, we need evidence.

The children's names come from the will. Obviously, there are problems preventing a merge. I am currently involved in further research which needs some time. I am rejecting a merge for now.

Wilson-44823 and Wilson-5207 appear to represent the same person because: This proposed merge will reconcile virtually all of the apparent inconsistencies in each of the un-merged profiles consistent with separate correspondences between Susan Wilson and Rhitt Garrett.
