Biography

Hannah Wilson was born in Yorkshire, England.

Hannah was born about 1875. She was the daughter of Thomas Wilson and Ellen Pape, ^[1] and was baptised on 27 June 1875 in Bedale, Yorkshire (North Riding), England. The family were living in Burrill, near Bedale and her father was a Labourer. ^[2]

In 1881 Hannah was living with her parents and sibling in Firby in Bedale, ^[3] and in 1891 they had moved to Leeds ^[4]

Hannah married Joseph Henry Driffield in 1904, ^[5] and in 1911 were living in Leeds where Jospeh was a House Painter. They had no children. ^[6] Joseph age 43 joined the Army in 1915. They were living in Falcon Street at this time and Hannah is recorded as his next of kin. They also record an adopted daughter Emily Smith. Joseph was discharged in 1917 as he was no longer fit for service and died in 1920. ^[7]

In the 1921 census Hannah 45, was the widowed head of household at 32 Falcon Street, Leeds, Yorkshire (West Riding), England.^[8] She married for a second time to widower Robert Wilson 52, on 25 December 1923 at St Agnes, Leeds. ^{[9] [10]} and In the 1939 Hannah 64, was a Cleaner at Leeds Infirmary. She was recorded as married head of household at 2 Palmerston St., Leeds, although Robert was not on the record.^[11]

Hannah died age 68 in 1943 and was buried in Hunslet Cemetery, Leeds, with a death date of 21 December 1943. ^[12][13]
