Jennie Mahnke's Rites at Toledo

Toledo, Ia. -- Funeral services were here Monday for Mrs. Jennie Mahnke of Toledo.

As Jennie Amanda Winne, she was born at Robertson, Iowa, June 26, 1874, the daughter of Daniel and Sarah Lamb Winne. She was married to John Mahnke of Ackley Dec. 23, 1886. He died Nov. 26, 1913.

She has been a resident of the Toledo community 51 years, was a member of the Presbyterian church and of the American Legion auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, Paul, Marshalltown, and two daughters, Mrs. Boyd Rose, Des Moines, and Mrs. Olson Groves, Tama. A son, Archie died in 1913.

Two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Eserman of Minneapolis and Mrs. Bessie Casford of Freeport, IIll., and a brother William Winne, Robertson, also survive, as does her stepmother, Mrs. Nora Winne, of San Diego, Cal.; a stepbrother Harry E Winne, Hawthorne, Cal., and two stepsisters, Mrs. Ruel Peterson, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Ruby Anderson, San Diego.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Mahnke had been ill for several months and died Friday night.
