Walter Henry Wippell was born in 1895 at Bright, Victoria, Australia. He was a son of Harry Wippell and Minnie Wraith.
He served in the Australian Imperial Force during The Great War; enlisted 10th February 1915, returned to Australia 25th March 1919.[1] He was a member of the 1st Australian Divisional Ammunition Column.[2]
