Biography

William's daughter wrote an autobiography and provided the following details about her parents.

William and his wife lived in Romulus, Seneca County, New York. He followed the Sullivan Trail west to Lake Ontario to choose a plot of land, and went to Batavia to the Holland Land Company the following year to purchase the land. William arrived in Niagara County from Romulus in 1808 and went back for his wife and daughters in 1811.[1] The place they lived in now called Olcott, at that time it was called Kempville.[1]
