Biography
Birth
Mary Witt was born 29 March 1835 in New York.

She was the daughter of Stillman Witt and Eliza Arnold Douglas.
Family
Mary married as his second wife Daniel P. Eells on 18 January 1861 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

- She was killed by the explosion of the ship Chatauqua on Lake Chatauqua.

This 1892 map shows some of the properties along "Millionaire's Row" on Euclide Ave in Cleveland Ohio. The Eells mansion is found on the right side. The property is divided by Perkins Avenue. See attached map,

On the 1900 census it is claimed that she had had 5 children but only one was still alive.

In 1908 she was listed as a widow and living in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with her son Stillman Eells. Her husband died in 1903.

Death
She passed away 14 December 1916 in Casuarinas, Warwick East, Bermuda where her son, Stillman Eells, was serving as a US State Department Consul.
